· Directed the management of Rehabilitation Services in the States of Montana, Oregon and Washington. Staff included 4 Market Operations Directors, 3 Rehabilitation Directors, and 70 professional and supports staff. Annual net revenue: over $7 million.

  • 15 120-bed Nursing Home contracts
  • 3 Home Health contracts serving 90 patients
  • 3 Outpatient Services serving 90 clients
  • 2 Rehabilitation Agencies serving 40 patients

· Coordinated the strategic direction of the clinical and contract rehabilitation operations in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech Pathology practices within the Pacific Northwest market, a 310,000 sq. mi. territory with a population of 8,000,000.

  • Turned around an operation, which had a 12-month average operating profit of 8.5% to an average operating profit of 15.6% in 3 months.
  • Quickly and dramatically changed the operation from an "expense driven" to a "cost containment" mentality, ensuring accountability at all levels.

· Directly managed the Market Operations Directors and Rehabilitation Directors including hiring, training, professional development, financial and performance goals, as well as overseeing their management of clinical staff and activities.

  • Coordinated the direct bill business with the State Rehabilitation Agency Administrators for WA and OR.
  • Worked directly with the Staffing Coordinator to ensure patients’ needs were met on weekends and evenings.
  • Worked with administrative staff at the regional office to provide area reports, data base requirements, financial and billing records, etc.

· Oversaw all billing of the area customers by the Billing Coordinator based at Corporate Headquarters.

· Introduced NovaCare and its products and services to potential customers including CEOs and Administrators of Nursing Homes, Hospitals and Assisted Living Facilities at the NovaCare exhibition booth during the Oregon Health Care Association Winter Conference in Ashland, OR.
