· Directed the management of seven 120-bed Nursing Home contracts and one Home Health contract that provided rehabilitation services throughout Northwest Indiana. Staff included 2 Market Operations Directors and 2 Rehabilitation Directors with a professional staff of 55. Annual net revenue: $4.8 million.

· Generated over $1.3 million in operating profit within 12 months, by increasing clinicians’ efficiency and reducing overhead expenses.

  • Increased time-on-task 50% by working directly with managers to improve clinicians’ time management.
  • Decreased the use of contract labor by 30%.
  • Instituted the "job share" concept, which reduced overtime by 25%.
  • Quickly and accurately analyzed the practices in every facility and changed the staff mix ratio, which increased contribution margins by 25%.

· Fostered strong relationships with customers, referral sources, hospitals and assisted living facilities that resulted in contract sales increases of 20%.

  • Represented NovaCare at the annual Illinois Health Care Association convention and trade show.
  • Developed and implemented the use of a blind "Patient Satisfaction Survey" card to promote customer feedback on rehabilitation services.
  • Made "cold calls" on over 400 potential customers in a year; performed monthly site visits to current customers.
  • Developed and instituted a site visit form for managers to utilize during their weekly site visits, which improved communication between customers and the Rehabilitation Dept.
